Navigating Conflict in the Classroom (NAVINCLASS)
Growing polarisation in society and international crises are increasingly affecting everyday life at universities. NAVINCLASS supports lecturers in using conflict in the classroom as an opportunity for learning. Students learn to discuss controversial topics in a reflective way, consider different perspectives, and develop shared solutions.
The project develops practical guidelines, training modules for lecturers, and simulation-based workshops for students. It brings proven methods from peace and conflict studies into higher education and encourages universities to see conflict not simply as a disruption, but as a chance to learn. NAVINCLASS strengthens critical thinking, social skills, and constructive ways of dealing with emotionally charged discussions, helping to create inclusive, respectful, and safe learning spaces.
