The NAVINCLASS consortium was formed through ongoing exchanges between universities in Marburg, Cluj, Coimbra, Madrid, Sarajevo, and Mostar, where academics and educators identified growing challenges related to conflict, polarisation, and sensitive debates in higher education classrooms. Recognising that these issues affect universities across different societal and political contexts, the partners decided to combine their expertise and experiences in order to develop conflict-sensitive teaching and learning approaches.

The consortium brings together complementary strengths in Peace and Conflict Studies, Peace Education, international relations, multicultural and multilingual teaching, and conflict transformation. At the same time, the partnership reflects a diversity of institutional and regional contexts, including multi-ethnic societies, internationally oriented university towns, and capital cities. Through their shared commitment to dialogue, critical reflection, and inclusive education, the partner universities work together to address common challenges facing higher education today.
